How to Change a Student's Clinical Site Location

Student clinical site locations can be updated by the student themselves or by a school account.

Option 1: Student Updates Their Own Location

In most CompKeepr configurations, students can update their own clinical location:

1. Have the student log into CompKeepr
2. They go to Account Info or My Location
3. Select the new clinical site from the dropdown
4. Save changes

This is the quickest method if your program allows student self-service.

Option 2: School Account Updates the Location

If a school administrator needs to change it:

1. Go to the Students section
2. Find and click on the student
3. Look for Location or Clinical Site in their profile
4. Select the new location from the dropdown
5. Save the changes

Note: Clinical Instructors cannot update student locations — only students or school accounts can make this change.

Important Notes

• Past evaluations are not affected — changing the location only affects future evaluations
• Preceptors are tied to locations — when the student changes location, they will see different preceptors in their dropdown
• Location history — some programs track location history for reporting purposes

The Location I Need Is Not in the List

If the clinical site is not available in the dropdown:

• An administrator may need to add the new location to the system
• Check with your program coordinator or CompKeepr administrator
• Contact support if you need a new location added

Bulk Location Changes

If you need to move multiple students to a new location (such as a new rotation), contact support — we can help with bulk updates to save time.
