Managing Your Clinical Location

Why Locations Matter

Your clinical location determines which preceptors appear in your dropdown lists when sending competency or daily evaluations. Keeping your location up to date is essential for a smooth experience.

Updating Your Location

To update your location:

  1. Go to your Account Info or Profile page (click your name in the menu)
  2. Find the Locations section
  3. Add your current clinical placement location
  4. Remove any locations you are no longer at

Common Issues

I cannot see my preceptor in the dropdown

If your preceptor has an account but does not appear in your list:

  • Check that your location is set correctly in your Account Info
  • Confirm with your preceptor that they are registered at the same location

I see duplicate preceptors

If you see the same preceptor multiple times, you likely have multiple locations set. Open your profile and remove any locations you are not currently at.

Important Notes

  • Sent evaluations will still appear in your preceptor's inbox even if you later remove that location
  • Do not remove a location if your Clinical Instructor still needs to create a Formative Evaluation for that placement
